The Guide.

Everything you need to set up, run, and grow your business on GoGoPortal Studio.

Getting Started

GoGoPortal Studio is a booking and portfolio platform built for independent service professionals — hairstylists, tattoo artists, nail techs, makeup artists, estheticians, massage therapists, and piercers. Your own custom page, online booking, payment tracking, and client management — for $19/month, or free to start.

Creating your account

  1. Go to www.gogoportal.io/register and sign up with email or Google
  2. Verify your email (check your inbox)
  3. You'll be taken straight into the Setup Wizard

Every new account starts on the free tier — the full product, capped at 25 confirmed appointments a month. No credit card required. Subscribe to Pro ($19/month) whenever you need the cap lifted.

Your dashboard

Your dashboard is your home base. From the sidebar:

  • Overview — stats, setup checklist, quick actions
  • Services — add and manage what you offer
  • Schedule — appointments, weekly availability, schedule overrides
  • Portfolio — upload photos of your work with captions
  • Customize Page — opens the inline editor on your live page
  • Clients — see everyone who's booked with you
  • Payments — connect Square
  • Analytics — revenue, top services, monthly trends
  • Reviews — manage client testimonials
  • Billing — your plan, upgrade or manage subscription
  • Setup Guide — re-walk through the setup wizard at any time
  • Settings — business info, booking settings, policies, social links

Setup Wizard

The Setup Wizard walks you through everything you need to launch your page. It has 11 steps. Everything auto-saves as you type — so if you refresh, close your browser, or come back later, you pick up right where you left off. You can also re-enter the wizard any time from Dashboard → Setup Guide.

The 11 steps

  1. Business — business name, page URL, tagline, bio. The URL is auto-suggested from your business name and checked for availability live.
  2. Contact — business email, phone, address, location type (studio/mobile/both)
  3. Categories — what you do (Hair, Tattoo, Nails, Makeup, Skincare, Massage, Piercings)
  4. Specialties — pick from the list or add your own custom ones
  5. Services — add services with name, duration, price, and optional description. Each service is saved to the database immediately, so refresh-safe.
  6. Hours — toggle which days you work and set your hours
  7. Booking — minimum notice, cancellation window, buffer, special instructions, policies, tip options
  8. Payments — connect Square (optional but recommended)
  9. Social — Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, website
  10. Gallery — upload your logo, banner, and portfolio photos
  11. Done — finish and either go to your dashboard or jump straight into customizing your page's look

Skipping steps

Business (step 1) and Categories (step 3) are the only required steps. Everything else is optional — every optional step has a Skip button. You can also click "Finish later — take me to the dashboard" at any point to bail out and come back later.

Customizing Your Page

The inline editor

Visit your page (click "View My Page" in the dashboard sidebar) and click "Edit Page" in the top-right corner. You'll see dashed outlines around editable text and images:

  • Click any text to edit it inline (business name, tagline, bio, etc.)
  • Click your logo or banner to upload a new image
  • Click "Customize" in the bottom toolbar to change colors, fonts, layout, and animations
  • Changes auto-save as you make them

From the dashboard

You can also manage everything from regular dashboard pages:

  • Settings — all profile fields, contact info, social links, booking policies
  • Services — add/edit/delete services with full form
  • Portfolio — upload, reorder, caption, and delete portfolio photos
  • Schedule → Availability — your weekly hours with multiple time blocks per day

Publishing Your Page

Your page starts as a draft — only you can see it. When you're ready for clients to find you, you can publish it from three places:

  • The Publish button in the inline editor toolbar (when editing your page)
  • Settings → Page Visibility toggle
  • From a draft banner at the top of your own page

Unpublished pages won't appear in search, on the Explore page, or on the homepage. If someone tries to visit your URL directly, they'll get a 404. Once published, you can unpublish at any time using the same controls.

Services & Hours

Services

Go to Dashboard → Services to manage what you offer. For each service:

  • Name, description, duration (in minutes), price
  • Optional deposit amount (for Square checkout deposits)
  • Optional image
  • Toggle active/inactive

Free plan allows up to 3 services. Pro is unlimited.

Multi-service booking

Clients can select multiple services in one booking. The total duration and price update live, and the time slot picker accounts for the combined duration so they only see times when you can actually fit all of it.

Weekly availability

Go to Dashboard → Schedule → Availability tab. Toggle each day on/off and set your hours. You can add multiple time blocks per day (e.g., morning + afternoon with a lunch break in between).

Schedule overrides

For days off, vacations, or special hours, go to the Overrides tab. Pick a single date or a range, and choose "Full Day Off" or "Custom Hours". If clients already have appointments on those dates, you'll be prompted to send them reschedule notifications with a custom message and rebook link.

Booking Settings & Policies

Set these in Dashboard → Settings → Booking Settings (or during the Setup Wizard).

Buffer between appointments

Extra minutes blocked after each appointment for cleanup or prep. Most providers leave this at 0 and include buffer in the service duration instead.

Minimum booking notice

How many hours in advance clients must book. Set to 2 (default) to prevent someone from booking a slot 5 minutes from now. You can still book for clients from your dashboard with no restriction.

Cancellation window

How many hours before the appointment a client can cancel for free. After this window, deposits may be forfeited. The cancellation page warns clients if they're inside the window.

Special instructions

Sent in every booking confirmation email. Use for parking info, directions, what to bring, dress code, how to find you, etc. You can also upload a reference photo (a map, entrance photo, parking diagram) which is included with the email.

Booking policies

Shown to clients during the booking flow (not after). Clients must check a box agreeing to your policies before they can confirm the booking. Use for cancellation rules, no-pet policies, late arrival fees, color services prep, or any rules they need to agree to before booking.

Tip options

Default tip percentages shown at checkout (e.g., 15, 20, 25). Tips are tracked separately on each payment.

Inspiration photos at booking

Pro automatically lets clients upload up to 3 reference photos when they book. These appear as thumbnails on the appointment in your schedule, and clicking opens a fullscreen lightbox where you can view and download them.

Connecting Square

GoGoPortal Studio integrates with Square so you can take deposits, link card-reader payments to appointments, and track tips. Square is free to sign up — you only pay per-transaction processing fees.

Square fees (2026)

  • In-person (card reader): 2.6% + 15¢ per transaction
  • Online (checkout links/deposits): 3.3% + 30¢ per transaction
  • Manually keyed: 3.5% + 15¢ per transaction
  • No monthly fees on the free Square plan

Connecting (the easy way)

  1. If you don't already have a Square account, sign up free at squareup.com
  2. In GoGoPortal Studio, go to Dashboard → Setup Guide and navigate to the Payments step (or visit Dashboard → Payments)
  3. Click "Connect Square"
  4. You'll be redirected to Square to authorize GoGoPortal Studio
  5. Click "Allow" — you'll be sent right back where you came from with a green "Connected" status

Note: Square integration requires a Pro subscription.

What it enables

  • Accept deposits when clients book online (using Square checkout links)
  • Link card-reader payments from your Square POS to appointments in GoGoPortal Studio
  • Track tips per appointment
  • See payment history and breakdowns in your dashboard and analytics

Managing Payments & Tips

Payment status on appointments

Every appointment in your schedule shows its payment status: unpaid, partial (deposit paid), or paid. You'll also see tip totals broken out separately.

Recording payments

On any appointment, click "Record payment" to open the payment modal. You have two options:

  • Link Square Payment — pulls your most recent Square transactions (last 48 hours) so you can pick the matching one. Amount, tip, and card brand/last 4 are imported automatically.
  • Record Manually — enter the amount, tip, and method (cash, Venmo, other) with an optional note.

The appointment's payment status updates automatically based on the total of all payments compared to the service price.

Workflow with a card reader

  1. Take payment normally with your Square reader at the appointment
  2. In GoGoPortal Studio, open the appointment in your schedule
  3. Click Record Payment → Link Square Payment
  4. Pick the matching transaction from the list — done

Managing Appointments

Confirming and cancelling

In Dashboard → Schedule, each appointment has action buttons:

  • Confirm (checkmark) — confirms the appointment and sends the client a confirmation email
  • Cancel (X) — opens a modal with two choices:
    • Just Cancel — cancels and sends a cancellation email
    • Ask to Reschedule — cancels and sends the client a reschedule email with your custom message and a rebook link

Cancel works on both pending and confirmed appointments.

Inspiration photos

If clients uploaded inspiration photos when booking, you'll see thumbnails on the appointment card. Click any thumbnail to open a fullscreen lightbox where you can view at full resolution, navigate between photos, and download them.

Booking for Clients

For walk-ins, phone bookings, or regulars who text you directly, you can book on a client's behalf from your dashboard:

  1. Go to Dashboard → Schedule → Appointments
  2. Click "Book for Client" in the top-right
  3. Select a past client from the searchable list, or enter a new client's name, email, and phone
  4. Pick services (multi-select supported)
  5. Pick date and time
  6. Confirm — the appointment is auto-confirmed (no pending state) and the client receives a confirmation email

Creator-initiated bookings bypass the minimum notice rule, so you can book the same day or even right now if you have an opening.

Emails & Notifications

Automated emails

GoGoPortal Studio sends emails automatically — nothing to configure:

  • Booking confirmation — sent to the client with appointment details, your special instructions and reference photo, and a cancellation link
  • New booking alert — sent to you when a client books
  • Booking reminder — sent to the client 24 hours before their appointment
  • Cancellation — sent to both parties when an appointment is cancelled
  • Reschedule request — sent to the client when you cancel with the "Ask to Reschedule" option, with your custom message and a rebook link
  • Verification — sent on signup (always sent — cannot be unsubscribed)

Special instructions

Set in Settings → Special Instructions for Clients. These are included in every booking confirmation email, along with an optional reference photo (like a map or entrance photo).

Email preferences

Both you and your clients can manage email preferences. Every email includes an unsubscribe link in the footer. Logged-in users can also visit www.gogoportal.io/studio/my/email-preferences to toggle categories on/off (booking confirmations, reminders, notifications, marketing). Account emails like verification are always sent and can't be unsubscribed.

Analytics

Go to Dashboard → Analytics for a real-time view of your business:

  • Total bookings, revenue, tips earned, unique clients
  • Status breakdown — completed, cancelled, pending, repeat clients, average booking value
  • Top services — your top 5 services ranked by booking count and revenue
  • Monthly trends — bookings and revenue over the last 6 months as a bar chart

Billing & Plans

Free tier

The free tier is the full product. Your page, online booking, multi-service bookings, Square deposits, client management, analytics, automated emails, and full customization all work on Free. The only limit is volume: 25 confirmed appointments per calendar month. No credit card required.

Pro ($19/month)

Pro makes appointments unlimited and unlocks every other GoGoPortal app — one subscription, one bill. See the pricing page for the breakdown.

Managing your subscription

Go to Dashboard → Billing to see your current plan. From there you can:

  • Subscribe to Pro (Stripe checkout)
  • Click "Manage Billing" to access Stripe's customer portal — update your payment method, view invoices, or cancel

For Clients
